Innovation in MEP for a Smart, Sustainable and Energy Efficient Built Sector for the Kingdom’s Vision 2030

The world of construction and building design is changing as demand grows for more sustainable, smart, intelligent, and cost-effective innovative structures. This has resulted in the increasing integration cutting-edge technologies, sustainable practices, advancements in automation and smart building systems in the built sector, affecting the way MEP systems are designed, implemented, and maintained to meet these demands.

A recent report by Strategy& Middle East highlights the potential of sustainability-focused construction technologies, projecting a 50-60% reduction in lifecycle emissions during the $2 trillion construction investment surge expected in the region over coming years. Saudi Arabia is expected to be the largest contributor to this reduction as the local Vision 2030, focusing on the substantial transformation of the construction sector, is driving the integration and adoption of energy-efficient technologies in building projects.

As much as this creates a huge challenge for MEP engineers and suppliers, it is also a great opportunity to evolve and innovate the MEP practice to develop new strategies and methodologies that align with the fast-changing technology landscape to build a more efficient and sustainable future for the built sector.

To this end, the MEP International Conference is organized to provide an exclusive annual gathering of project owners, developers, architects, MEP consultants, engineers and contractors involved in the Saudi mega project revolution, as part of the vision 2030, to discuss the future of the built sector, the transformative role of MEP, and its evolution to meet the growing demands.
